Face of the Day Friday — February 1, 2019

Face of the Day Friday

Hey guys! Today I’ve been playing with my Violet Voss Rose or Die Palette. And this is what I came up with for you.

I started (as usual) by waking up my under eye area with The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG. I also ran some Smack Beauty Bat Those Lashes Volumizing Lash Serum along my lash line.

To prep my face for makeup, I patted on some Acure Brilliantly Brightening Day Cream. I also hydrated my lips with some Grande Lips Hydrating Lip Plumper.

To even out my complexion, I applied some Dr. Jart+ Black Label Detox Beauty Balm, blending it in with a dampened Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.

To add some definition, I used my NYX Professional Makeup Sculpt and Highlight Face Duo in Taupe/Ivory. I blended that in with another dampened Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. For my nose contour, I used a NYX Professional Makeup Micro-Contour Duo Pencil in Light, this time just using the warm of my fingers to blend it.

To add a little flush to my cheeks, I used my fingers to pat a tiny bit of Tata Harper Volumizing Lip and Cheek Tint in Very Charming. I also added some glow to my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose with a little NYX Professional Makeup Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator in Sunbeam.

Over the contoured areas, I used both a Morphe R9 Brush and a Morphe R41 Brush to add some Sephora Matte Perfection Powder Foundation in Deep Mocha.

On the highlighted areas, I used a Morphe E9 Brush to pack on some Ben Nye Luxury Powder in Buff. After a few minutes, I used a Morphe E41 Brush to sweep away the excess powder.

To add more cheek color, I used a Sigma F40 Brush to sweep on some Jouer Cosmetics Powder Blush in Bloom. I also added more glow (you know I can’t get enough) to my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose with a Morphe M501 Brush and some Dose of Colors Baked Highlighter in Peach Glow.

To fill in and shape my brows today, I used an LA Girl Cosmetics 207 Brush and some Inglot AMC Brow Liner Gel in 20. I set them with some Model in a Bottle Long Lasting Eyebrow Sealer. To clean up the edges some, I used a Younique Cream Shadow Brush and some Dermablend Professional Cover Creme in Natural Beige.

Now for the fun part! This is when I got to play with the Violet Voss Ride or Die Palette.

I started by creating a transition shade with a Sigma E40 Brush and the color Leslie.

Next, I added the color Abigail just above my crease with a Morphe R39 Brush.

Into my crease, I added the color Sarah using a Sigma E30 Brush.

For the inner and outer corners of my eyelids, I used a Morphe E14 Brush to pack on the color Andrea.

Right in the center of my eyelids, I added the color Amy (you know I had to!) with a Morphe E32 Brush.

For my lower lash line, I used a Morphe M508 Brush to add the color Stephanie.

For my liner today, I added a wing with a Clio Professional Kill Black Waterproof Brush Liner.

I also tossed on a couple coats of Lancôme Mon Sieur Big Mascara, and added the third pair of lashes from the Violet Voss Eye Believe in Unicorns Set with a little Duo Brush On Adhesive with Vitamins.

I lined and filled in my lips with a Mary Kay Signature Lip Liner in Chocolate, and completed the look with a little Lip Smackers Vanilla Coca-Cola Lipgloss.

See you all soon!

Face of the Day Friday

Hey guys! I was playing with my Pinky Rose Cosmetics Rustic Rose Palette today and decided to share what I came up with for you.

I started (as usual) by waking up my under eye area with The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG. I also ran some Smack Beauty Bat Those Lashes Volumizing Lash Serum along my upper lash line.

To prep my face for makeup, I patted on some NYX Professional Makeup #NoFilter Blurring Primer. I also hydrated my lips with some Blossom Scented Lip Gloss in Mint.

To even out my complexion, I used a dampened Beauty Blender to pat on The Ordinary Colours Coverage Foundation in 1.2YG. To correct my dark circles, I applied some LA Girl Cosmetics Pro Conceal HD Concealer in Light Yellow Corrector, buffing it in with a Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush.

To add a bit of definition, I used a NYX Professional Makeup Wonder Stick Highlight and Contour Stick in Universal, blending it out with a dampened Beauty Blender.

To add a tiny bit of cheek flush, I used a Club Clio Peripera Ah! Much Real My Cushion Blusher in Pleased Pink. I also added some glow with some Temptu Silicone Based Highlighter in Champagne Shimmer.

To go over the areas I contoured earlier, I used both an e.l.f. Cosmetics Contouring Brush and a Real Techniques Brow Brush and some Sephora Matte Perfection Powder Foundation in Deep Mocha.

On the highlighted areas, I used a Vera Mona Cake and Bake Makeup Sponge to pack on some Ben Nye Luxury Powder in Buff. After a few minutes, I swept off the excess with a Morphe G5 Brush.

For more cheek color, I used a Real Techniques Multi Task Brush to sweep on some Palladio Matte Blush in Velvetine.

And because you know I can never get enough glow, I used a Morphe M31 Brush to add some Dose of Colors Baked Highlighter in Peach Glow to my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose.

To fill in and shape my brows today, I used a Morphe E38 Brush and some LA Girl Cosmetics Gel Liner in Dark Brown. (I know, I know. A little different, but I felt like experimenting.) I cleaned up the edges with a Morphe M508 Brush and some Jouer Cosmetics Perfector in Naturel.

Now for the fun part! Here’s where I used my Pinky Rose Cosmetics Rustic Rose Palette.

I started by created a transition shade with the color in the second column, first row with a Frankie Rose Cosmetics 725 Brush.

Next, I added some color in the crease with a Morphe E22 Brush, and the color in the sixth column, second row.

Onto my eyelids and on my lower lash line, I used a Sigma E55 Brush to add the color from the fifth column, third row.

Next, I added some winged liner, with a Morphe E38 Brush and some Frankie Rose Cosmetics Limitless Waterproof Gel Liner in Naughty.

I also ran some Frankie Rose Infinity Eye Pencil in Brown into my waterline.

I tossed on a couple coats of Lancôme Mon Sieur Big Mascara, and added the second pair of lashes from the Violet Voss Eye Believe in Unicorns Set, using some Duo Eyelash Adhesive.

To finish of the look, I lined and filled in my lips with NYX Professional Makeup Suede Matte Lip Liner in Maison, and swept on a coat of NYX Professional Makeup Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in Push Up.

And that’s all for today! See you all soon!

Thursday Thoughts: Beauty Trash — January 10, 2019

Thursday Thoughts: Beauty Trash

Hey guys! Time to dig through my Beauty Trash again. Here we’ll talk about what I’ve used up, and I’ll even give you my thoughts on the products.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polish in Cafe Au Lait: I was so sad this dried up too much to use. This was one of the first nude nail polishes I fell in love with.

China Glaze Nail Polish with Hardeners in Star Hopping: this one also made me sad. I love the way the glitter in this one catches the light, especially since it’s in a dark base color.

Yichen Polymer Powder in Clear: this was one of my best investments. If I didn’t already have pink and white left, I’d have to break my no buy stretch and get more.

Alterna Bamboo Smooth Anti-Frizz Conditioner: this is hard to say, but this line has hands down been my favorite out of anything I’ve tried. Left my hair truly smooth and frizz free.

Alterna Bamboo Smooth Anti-Frizz Shampoo: I don’t know how they do it. Hair felt very clean, but again frizz-free.

Moroccan Oil Treatment: you know I’m a huge Moroccan Oil fan. This product is as good as the rest of their stuff.

Palladio Matte Bronzer in No Tan Lines: this was upsetting. I know I’ve been using the slightly darker shade is Teeny Bikini lately, but this is my go to for a slightly more natural contour.

Tata Harper Highlight in Very Illuminating: this one was a little bit of a cheat. It actually got glitter in it (don’t ask me how), and it pretty much became unusable. So sad.

Palladio Under Eyes Disguise Full Coverage Concealer in Vanilla Latte: my go to cream highlighter and under eye concealer lately. I already had other tubes, so I don’t have to stress about being out during a no buy.

Violet Voss Glitter in Venus: whoa. I hate the fact that I ran out of any glitter, but it’s especially bad for two reasons. One, because it’s Violet Voss, which I love. Two, because of course it had to happen during my no buy, so I can’t even replace it.

Jouer Cosmetics Mineral Powder in Perle Naturel: not my favorite, not the worst. I won’t be missing it bad enough to be sad I’m out.

Model in a Bottle Long Lasting Eyebrow Sealer: thank goodness I already had another bottle. I love this stuff.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Mineral Eyeshadow in Sweet: I used to love this. But honestly? I’m okay with it being gone now.

And that’s all! What did you guys run out of that you were sad about? Anything you were disappointed in? Let me know so I can know what to buy or not buy! See you soon!

Face of the Day Friday

Hey guys! Playing with a little green today!

I started as usual by waking up my under eye area with The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG. I also swept some Smack Beauty Bat Those Lashes Volumizing Lash Serum along my upper lash line.

To prep my face for makeup, I patted on some Glamazon Beauty Mystical Veil Primer. I also went ahead and hydrated my lips with some Smith’s Rosebud Salve Balm.

To even out my complexion, I applied some L’Oréal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation in Natural Buff, and buffed it in with a dampened Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.

Using an e.l.f. Cosmetics Contouring Brush, I added some definition back into my face with some Jouer Cosmetics Perfector in Chestnut. I again used a dampened Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge to blend.

To highlight the usual areas and conceal under my eyes, I used some Palladio Under Eyes Disguise Full Coverage Concealer in Vanilla Latte and buffed it in with a Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush.

To add a little flush to my cheeks, I used my fingers to add some Tata Harper Volumizing Lip and Cheek Tint in Very Charming.

To set all that, I grabbed an e.l.f. Cosmetics Professional Powder Brush and swept some RCMA No-Color Powder all over.

To again add some more depth, I used my Frankie Rose Cosmetics Pro Contour Palette. For the contouring with the darker shades, I used both a Japonesque Kumadori Blending Brush and a Morphe E30 Brush. For highlighting with the lighter colors, I used a Sigma F40 Brush.

For even more of a healthy flush, I grabbed a Morphe G5 Brush and swept some Frankie Rose Cosmetics Blush in Peachy Pink along my cheeks.

I also wanted some glow! You know I couldn’t just skip it today. So I used a Morphe M310 Brush to sweep some Forever 21 Rainbow Highlighter along my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose.

To fill in and shape my brows, I used a Japonesque Travel Angled Brow Brush and some NYX Professional Makeup Eyebrow Cake Powder in Dark Brown. I cleaned up the edges with a Morphe M508 Brush and a tiny bit of Dermacol Make-Up Cover Foundation in 209.

Now for the fun part! I started my eyes with my Morphe 35E Palette. Using a Frankie Rose Cosmetics 725 Brush, I created a transition shade with the color in the fifth column, first row. I then took a Real Techniques Domed Shadow Brush and added the color from the fourth column, fifth row into my crease.

Next I took a Morphe E32 Brush and patted some NYX Professional Makeup Glitter Primer onto my eyelids. Right on top of that, I used a Morphe E14 Brush to pack on some Ben Nye Lumiere Luxe Powder in Mermaid Sparkle.

For my winged liner today, I used a NYX Professional Makeup That’s the Point Put a Wing on it Artistry Eyeliner.

Now a couple coats of Lancôme Mon Sieur Big Mascara. And for even more drama, I threw on some Violet Voss Premium Lashes in Eye DGAF, using some Duo Eyelash Adhesive.

I swiped on some Arbonne Matte Lip Cream in Jasmine, and completed the look with some Arbonne Lip Gloss in Begonia.

And that’s all! See you soon!

Face of the Day  — July 15, 2017

Face of the Day

Hey! So this week I decided to switch it up and do something more colorful. I played a bit with the BH Cosmetics Take Me to Brazil Eyeshadow Palette.

I started with a Sigma e58 and some NYX Cosmetics Eyeshadow Base in White. Then I used a Sigma e40 to apply a transition shade with Stila Eyeshadow in Puppy.

I used my Sigma e30 to precisely apply the 7×3 color from the BH Cosmetics Take Me to Brazil Eyeshadow Palette.

I then used an e.l.f. Cosmetics Professional Eyeshadow Brush to apply the following colors from the same eyeshadow palette to my eyelids: 5×2 in the inner part, 6×1 to the middle, and 7×2 to the outer part.

I then concealed and highlighted under my eyes using a mixture of LA Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealers in Light Ivory and Natural. I blended that out with a dampened Beauty Blender.

I set that with a Morphe e41 and some Ben Nye Fair Translucent Powder. I added some color with a Sigma f40 and a bit of Anastasia Contour Powders in Java and Fawn. I blended that out with a Morphe m530 until my arms hurt.

I also faked a flush with a Sigma f15 and some Jouer Powder Blush in Peony. I then blended (again!) with a Real Techniques Multi Task Brush.
Then, to fake a glow, I used a Morphe m310 to sweep on some Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder in Mermaid Fantasy.

Now for the all important brows. I shaped them and filled them in with an Anastasia Duo Brush 7 and some NYX Cosmetics Eyebrow Gel in Chocolate. I also darkened them up a bit with NYX Cosmetics Eyebrow Powder in Dark Brown. I cleaned up the edges with a Sigma e58 and some Dermablend Professional Cover Creme in Natural Beige.

I then used an e.l.f. Cosmetics Professional Eyeshadow Brush to highlight my brow bones with NYX Cosmetics Hot Singles Eyeshadow in Lace.

Then I drenched myself in Ben Nye Final Seal Matte Makeup Sealer and said a quick prayer to the makeup gods that my hard work stays put.

I prepped my lashes with Lorac Pro Lash Pomade. I then tossed on some Red Cherry Lashes in 415 with the usual Duo Eyelash Adhesive.

I smeared on some Violet Voss Liquid Lipstick in Risqué and patted some Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder in Mermaid Fantasy in the center.

And that’s all! See you soon!

Face of the Day  — June 17, 2017

Face of the Day

Hey there! This week I tried something a little more artsy for you. I’m not sure I love how it turned out, but everyone that saw it loved it, so here goes.

Since I’m like an oily mess, I started by prepping my face with Murad Oil-Control Mattifier. I then used a Sigma e58 to apply some NYX Cosmetics Eyeshadow Base in Skin Tone to my eyelids to prep them for later.

I highlighted and concealed under my eyes with some LA Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealers in Light Yellow and Light Ivory. I blended the crap out of that with a dampened Beauty Blender.

To add some depth, I used a Sigma f40 to bronze a bit with Palladio Matte Bronzer in No Tan Lines.

I used that same Beauty Blender from before to put some Ben Nye Luxury Powder in Cameo to the area I wanted to highlight. After a couple of minutes, I used a Morphe e41 to sweep away the excess. Then I once again blended, with a Morphe m530 this time.

To fake a flush, I used my Sigma f15 to sweep some Jouer Powder Blush in Peony on my cheeks. Then, guess what! I blended again! This time with a Real Techniques Multi Task Brush.

To glow like I wish I could, I used my trusty Morphe m310 to sweep some Ben Nye Shimmer Powder in Cameo onto my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose.

Now for the brows! As usual, I used an Anastasia Duo Brush 7 and some NYX Cosmetics Eyebrow Gel in Chocolate to fill them in and shape them. I used a Sigma e58 and some Dermablend Professional Cover Creme in Natural Beige to clean up the edges.

Next I grabbed a Sigma e40 and used Adorable from my Blackheart Pastel Dreams Palette as a transition shade. In my crease, I used a Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush to apply some Sweetheart from the same palette. For my eyelids, I used a Morphe e14 to pay on some Hello Lovely from the same palette.

Now for the fun part!

I started with a pretty bold winged liner using LA Splash Cosmetics Art-Ki-Tekt Waterproof Slim Eyeliner.

I used NYX Cosmetics Vivid Brights Colored Liquid Liner in Vivid Delight to create small dots along the liner to represent the center of flowers.

Then, I used a Real Techniques Fine Liner Brush dipped into Stila Liquid Lipstick in Como, and used it to create “petals” around the orange dots.

For leaves, I used a Milani Ultrafine Liquid Eyeliner in Emerald Glisten.

Then, as usual, I doused myself in Ben Nye Final Seal Matte Makeup Sealer and said a prayer to the makeup gods that my hard work doesn’t melt away.

I prepped my lashes with L’Oréal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara. I tossed on the third pair from the Violet Voss Eye Believe in Unicorns set with a bit of Duo Eyelash Adhesive.

I finished of the whole thing with some Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in Curvy Candy.

I’ll see you soon!
