Thursday Thoughts: Beauty Trash

Hi guys! Yep! It’s that time again. As I’ve been going through a lot of my beauty products lately, I’ve decided to go on a no buy. This means I’ll be using up the zillions of products I already have. And trust me, there’s a ton! Here’s what I’ve used up since the last Beauty Trash post:

Philip B Icelandic Blonde Deep Conditioner: this was awesome! I used it right after my last bleaching. The grape seed and plum make it smell amazing too! It’s on the pricier side, but the ingredients are on a whole other level than the drug store stuff.

Murad Hydro-Dynamic Quenching Essence: this is very light weight. Almost like a serum like texture. Very nice if you’ve got oily skin like me.

Inglot YSM Cream Foundation in 43: this one actually made me sad. I love this foundation. Especially for going out, or when I need a little extra coverage.

Dr. Bronner’s Organic Virgin Coconut Oil: basically I use coconut as a makeup remover. It breaks down absolutely everything.

Younique Mineral Touch Liquid Foundation in Satin: This is really good coverage. Worth is if you have a need for full coverage.

Smack Beauty Detox to Relax Charcoal Detoxifying Face Mask: I loved this. It defined my skin without drying it out. Which is a hard balance to find.

Oribe Supershine Moisturizing Cream: this summer I’ve been really trying to keep my hair away from heated styling tools. So I’ve been scrunching this into my hair and learning to love my natural texture, or raking it through before throwing in some braids.

LuLuLun 7 Days Sheet Masks: nice. Just kind of overall moisturizing. Didn’t notice much of a huge difference in my skin.

Swan Nail Polish Remover: well, this one should be self explanatory.

COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch: un-be-liev-able! These are ah-mazing!!! Run out and get some! Right now!

Keratin Complex Keratin Replenisher: I cannot even begin to explain how soft and healthy this makes my hair feel. It may be one if the best products I’ve ever used.

Avatara Shape Up Face Mask: this felt nice on. Can’t say I noticed any improvement in the elasticity of my skin though.

Karuna Hydrating+ Face Mask: this did absolutely leave my skin feeling refreshed and even hydrated, without leaving it oily or greasy. I loved it.

Karuna Renewal+ Eye Mask: this is the highest selling item made by Karuna. Maybe I just don’t get it. I’ve used other under eye patches that I liked much better.

Free Your Mane Daily Detangling Conditioner: I grabbed this when I found it on sale just to use to dilute hair dye. But I really did enjoy the smell.

L’Oréal 30 Volume Oreor Creme Developer: obviously this is to dye and/or bleach my hair. I’m not sure why this is the brand I gravitated to when I got serious and began doing my own hair, but this is pretty much all I use.

Jane Carter Solution Curls to Go Shine On Curl Elixir: ehhhh. Not really sure I saw any added shine when using this. I did get annoyed because I had to learn to use it closer to wash day, as it tended to leave my hair feeling more oily than shiny. On the plus side, it did smell good.

Dream Water + Beauty 0-Calorie Beauty Sleep Shot: I’ve talked about these before, but for anyone that’s new, these work for sleep. At $4 a bottle though, and the fact that you need to use them every night for at least a week to see the other benefits, I’m just not sure it’s worth it.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum: now, I’ll admit, I use a lot of skincare. And I rotate between products a ton. But I’m really not sure I saw a difference in the radiance if my skin when using it. It did feel soothing when applying, though.

Wella Color Charm Permanent Liquid Hair Toner in T18: I mix this box with the next product to tone my hair after bleaching.

Wella Color Charm Permanent Liquid Hair Toner in T14: like I said. I mix this with T18 when toning my hair after bleaching. The combo gives me the color I’m looking for.

China Glaze Nail Lacquer with Hardeners in Point Me to the Party: I adore this nail polish! Super sad to discovered it had started drying up and getting clumpy.

Jane Carter Solution Curls to Go Mist Me Over Curl Hydrator: I used this to refresh my waves the next day. Getting some moisture and definition in the without having to start all over with wet hair.

The Mane Choice Manetabolism Plus Healthy Hair Vitamins: usually I use Hairfinity, bit I wanted to give these a try. I don’t think they worked quite as well, but they did work okay.

Ricky’s NYC Rickycare Disposable Mascara Wands: I apply my homemade lash oil with these, so they are a must! Although, I guess most any brand would do.

Smack Beauty Full Speed Ahead Quick Lift Serum with Retinol: I liked this. Didn’t overly dry out my skin, like a lot of retinol formulas do. Because this girl does go overboard on the retinol products sometimes.

Thayers Witch Hazel Aloe Vera Formula Alcohol-Free Cucumber Toner: this is my toner of choice these days. Keeps my pH balanced without drying my skin out.

Diane by Fromm Powder-Free Vinyl Gloves: just for coloring and bleaching my hair. These don’t rip easily. I like them.

Jean Pierre Cucumber Makeup Remover Wipes: these have been my go to wipes for a little while. I’m not a huge fan of wipes. I’m way too into my skincare routine to just do a wipe and be done. But I like these for just a quick cleanup when I’m not wearing makeup or in the morning when I’m in a rush to get the kiddo to school. I always follow it up later with something else though.

bare Minerals Skinlongevity Vital Power Infusion: this was just a mess. Not my favorite. At all.

Anyway, that’s all for now! What did you love that you used up recently?

Thursday Thoughts: Beauty Trash

Hey guys! This week I’ll be digging through my Beauty Trash with you. Let’s jump in!

Avatara No Baggage Energizing Hydrogel Eye Mask: I like this. Not the best I’ve tried, not the worst.

Ben Nye Luxury Powder in Buff: I’ve already replaced this. No way was I going without.

Skyn Iceland The Antidote Cooling Daily Lotion with Icelandic Kelp: this feels so amazing in the summer. It’s super cooling and refreshing.

Braza Flash Tape: well, I used this more for swatching than anything. To be honest, it’s not like this tape would realistically do me much good.

Avatara Even Out Face Mask: This didn’t help with my pores. I didn’t notice much difference at all in my skin.

Avatara Calm Down Nose Pore Strip and Hydrogel Nose Mask: these nose strips are so stinking cute. I would buy more just because of that!

Avatara Dainty Rose Hydrogel Lip Mask: you all know how I feel about these lip mask things. I don’t really get the point.

Avatara Cool As A Cucumber Hydrogel Eye Mask: this worked very well, and is a much better price point than some.

Masque Bar Oxygen Bubble Bamboo Charcoal Sheet Mask: you guys know I love bubble masks, so I will probably grab more.

Peter Thomas Roth Glycolic Acid 3% Facial Wash: I loved this. And it lasted forever. When I run through the other ones I have I’ll probably repurchase.

Sani + Spa Olive Tree Ultra Moisturizing Hand Cream: this was nice. I appreciated that it wasn’t overly perfumed. But I’m not sure if I noticed a difference in my hands.

Dream Water + Beauty: we’ve already discussed this in previous posts, but I won’t be repurchasing. It works but at $3.99 a Bottle, not really worth it.

Nigella DS Tender Feel Treatment: well. I saw no difference at all. In fact, my hair may have even felt worse sometimes.

Avatara Tart Orange Hydrogel Lip Mask: what am I doing wrong? Why don’t these seem to work for me?

Bioderma Sensiobio H2O Micelle Solution Make-Up Removing Wipes: these are great. The do remove some makeup, but mostly I use these when I haven’t work makeup and just want to refresh my face quickly.

Avatara Wipe Out Nose Pore Strip and Hydrogel Nose Mask: these worked okay. Saving grace was how cute they are.

Clinique Pep-Start Hydroblur Moisturizer: I don’t know how much this actually blurred, but I did like the way it felt on.

Crece Pelo Natural Phytotherapeutic Treatment: this stuff is AMAZING!!! I hope I can fine more.

Model in a Bottle Sensitive Skin Formula: I definitely prefer the regular version of this, but this does work in a pinch.

Keratin Complex Infusion Keratin Replenisher: this is literally the best hair product I’ve ever used. Left my hair drastically healthier.

The Ordinary Advanced Retinoids 2%: I love this brand and will probably be picking up this plus other stuff!

Inglot Sparkling Dust 01: this is by far my favorite shade of these. I will have to grab more!

LA Colors Art Deco Nail Art Lacquer in Gold Glitter: I don’t much use these stripers any more, so probably won’t grab more

And that’s it! See you soon!

Wine Wednesday: Beauty Trash — April 4, 2018

Wine Wednesday: Beauty Trash

It’s that day. The middle of the week. Where you just aren’t sure if you’re going to make it through.

I’m going to get through by having a few glasses of wine. So grab a glass, and join me. Today I’ll be digging through my beauty trash for you, with a couple notes on each product.

Tony Moly Silky Smooth Balm: This was okay. I think it did okay at helping hide pores, but as a primer, it had a little too much slip for me. I got it on sale, though, so I’m not too disappointed. I won’t be scrambling to grab another one.

AG Sterling Silver Toning Shampoo: I used this a while ago to help keep my blonde nice and bright, and not brassy. I finished it off recently using it in a different way. I wanted to fade out the navy blue hair dye I had in. And basically I used this to help do that, because it contains a lot of sulfates. It’s great for toning, just makes sure you’re following it with a great hydrating hair mask. I won’t need it for a while hopefully.

Rickys’s NYC Rickycare Spoolies: As good as any, I supposed. Maybe slightly better, because these were pink. I use them to apply my homemade lash serum, so I’ll definitely be grabbing more.

Glam Glow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment: So. This is probably going to ruffle a few feathers. Glam Glow. You’re paying for the name. The product is good. But there’s absolutely no reason for the cost. None of the ingredients call for the price to be the way it is. I have used many other masks that work just as well, if not better, for a much lower price. I won’t be grabbing another one.

Ben Nye Luxury Powder in Buff: I use this pretty much every day. Well, either Buff or Cameo. So I will most definitely be grabbing more.

Palladio Brow Styler Tinted Gel in Medium/Dark: ehhhhh. Probably not. Definitely more for those of you blessed with already amazing brows.

Diane Reusable Latex Gloves: clearly, as much as I dye my hair I will be getting more gloves. I like these because they are thicker, but honestly, I’m super bad at reusing them.

Danielle Erase Your Face Age Defying Cleansing Cloths: okay. I am not a big believer in wipes. I don’t feel like they remove enough if you wear a full face of makeup (which clearly I do). A lot of them also contain a ton of alcohol, which is awful in your skin. But. When you’ve had a glass or two too many of wine, a wipe of a better option than sleeping with your makeup on. These were a little too dry. I’ll keep looking for something better.

L’Oreal Oreor Creme 30 Volume Developer: basically run through so much of this when I’m bleaching my hair. I like the consistency of this one, and it’s pretty much my go to, so I will be getting more.

COSRX One Step Original Clear Kit: This packaging is everything. COSRX is one of my favorite skin care brands. This product doesn’t disappoint. I mean, it’s rare for me to get a break out, but it felt great while using it. I would try it again, maybe when I’m having a hormonal breakout issue.

Clinique Blush Wear Cream Stick in Rosy Blush: this color is soooo flattering. Because I’m oily, sometimes I avoid too many cream products. This didn’t melt away, or make me feel even more oily. I’d definitely give it another go.

MadeCera (Re-turn) Essence Toner: this was nice. Strangely a little more milky/creamy than I’m used to. Might be really good for more dry skin. I’m thinking of buying this to replace the toner I’m using now.

Wunder Brow Brow Gel in Black/Brown: I liked this. I’m constantly trying out new brow products. I’ll probably work my way back around to this eventually.

Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic: now, this is a toner I enjoyed. A perfect balance for my oily skin, alcohol free, a ton of great ingredients. Actually, now that I think of it, maybe this should be my replacement purchase.

Huroo Huroo 4D Shape Memory Deep Hydrating Mask: this is made to fit your face better than a typical sheet mask. However, I don’t know if it’s because my face is a weird shape or what, I didn’t find it all that much better. It was okay. I won’t be rushing out for another one.

Jean Pierre Forever Young Calming Coconut Sheet Mask: now, I don’t want a sheet mask that’s dripping all over the place, but this one just seemed too dry. Not my favorite.

COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch: I love, love, love these! I talked about them in my updated night time skin care routine, and I’ve already replaced this pack.

Wish Formula Program Cosmetics C200 Bubble Peeling Pad: this was awesome! It’s different than most skin care items that I’ve used, in that it’s a fluffy pad that you need to put the liquid onto. My skin felt brighter after just one use. I’ll be on the lookout for another one.

Huroo Huroo 4D Shape Memory Anti Trouble Detoxifying Mask: again, the whole kitschy “fits better” thing didn’t work out for me. Won’t be repurchasing.

Jean Pierre Forever Young Fresh Green Tea Sheet Mask: again, too dry for my taste. What good could it possible be doing my skin?

Jean Pierre Forever Young Skin Elasticity Pomegranate Sheet Mask: this one was slightly better, but nothing to write home about.

Stacked Skincare Collagen Boosting Micro Roller: I am so obsessed with micro rolling these days. I’ve already replaced this one, as you should, and am using it.

Wella Color Charm Toner in T18: you know when you lighten your hair and it’s gets all orangey and brassy and gross looking? This is what I use to combat that when I bleach my roots. I’m sure if I continue with my crazy pink hair and bleaching, I’ll be stocking up.

NYX Cosmetics Eyebrow Cake Powder in Dark Brown: luckily, when this was on clearance, I grabbed a backup. I love this brow powder. While I don’t use it everyday, because I love trying new brow products, I use it pretty frequently.

When Makeup Base Sheet Mask: this left my skin feeling smooth and hydrated. Definitely plan ahead because this is a 30 minutes one, so if you’re doing a full beat, you’ll need some time.

Joico Color Intensity Eraser: I had navy hair for a bit. The kiddo’s request. It was so dark and moody compared to my usual bright blonde or pink. I used this to get all that dark out and go pink again. It works! Just use a heavy duty hair mask after, because it was pretty drying.

Swisspers Cotton Rounds: pretty boring. But much needed.

Pravana Chroma Silk Vivids Long Lasting Vibrant Direct Dye Hair Color in Wild Orchid: this is currently not my roots. Pravana in general, and this color in particular have been a go to of mine for a while now.

Hairfinity Candlilocks Chewable Hair Vitamins: I’ve already bought another bottle. Still testing them out. We shall see.

Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spritzer: same as before, but in spray form. Still awesome.

Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask Extreme Detoxifying Hydrator: keep this in your fridge. Trust me. On a hot day, or when your skin is irritated, or you’ve gotten some sun, nothing feels better than this.

L’Oreal Oreor Creme 20 Volume Developer: again, developer of choice, this time for my toners.

The Ordinary “Buffet” Multi-Tehnology Peptide Serum: this is what I typically use while micro rolling. My skin has never felt or looked better. I’m waiting on my store to restock so I can grab more.

Baxter Clay Mask: yep. You read that right. It’s for men. While I am very against using some men’s skincare products on women’s skin; this one works just fine. I got it forever ago in a Men’s Build Your Own Birchbox, and have put it to good use.

LA Splash Art-Ki-Tekt Waterproof Slim Eyeliner: my go to. I’ve already replaced it. This one is the blackest, most waterproof felt tip liner ever. And the tip is super fine.

Sunday Riley Juno Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil: I was sad to run out of this. It’s expensive, and I’ve been trying out some other options, but I just may have to go back to it.

Model In A Bottle Makeup Setting Spray: you guys already know how I feel about this. Of course I’ve already replaced it!

Palladio Matte Blush in Chic: I’ll be picking another up. This is the perfect every day no fuss color. Blends beautifully as well.

Frankie Rose Cosmetics Powder Foundation in Buff: well, I thought I’d give Powder foundation a go. I haven’t in a very long time. It’s not for me. I also tried using this for setting, but it was just too heavy for me.

L’Oreal Quick Blue Extra Strength De-Dusted Ultra Concentrated Bleach: this is my go to bleach. Obviously, since I buy it by the bucket. I’ll definitely be getting more.

The Ordinary Colours Serum Foundation in 2.0N: this is great. Amazing coverage, but feels like nothing. Didn’t oxidize. Wore well throughout the day. I’m working my way through a ton of foundations in my stash, then I’ll pick more up.

CBD For Life Pure CBD Eye Serum: this was nice. I really enjoyed it when I was using it. I’ve since switched it out with a couple other ones (one for day and one for night), and one of those I’m obsessed with. So, no, I won’t buy this again.

NARS Blush in Orgasm: still one of my all time favorites. I will have to put this in my to-buy list.

NYX Professional Makeup 3-in-1 Brow Pencil in Espresso: this is an absolute dream. All three bore products in one thing? The only nightmare is, it runs out so fast. And who is replacing it that often? Not this girl.

Perricone MD No Blush Blush: Obviously good for a “no makeup” makeup look. Actually beautiful. But looking back it took me a long time to use it up. So I probably won’t buy again.

MAC Sheertone Blush in Spring Sheen: gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. Especially when I’m not as pale as a ghost from being stuck inside most of the Winter. I will be picking more up.

NYX Professional Makeup HD Finishing Powder in Translucent: a great budget friendly powder. I’ll probably grab some at some point. Not in too big of a hurry.

Perricone MD No Highlighter Highlighter: again, great for a “no makeup” makeup look. This one I will probably replace at some point, because I really enjoyed the natural glow.

DUO Eyelash Adhesive: I’ve already replaced this. A girl can’t be without a steady supply of lash glue, can she?

And that’s all my trash!

I’ll see you all soon!

Mask Monday  — August 28, 2017

Mask Monday

I’ll be completely honest. I bout this time Nügg Mermaid Marine Peel Off Mask because it has the word (duh!) Mermaid in it. It’s supposed to cleanse, tone and soothe your skin.

It comes with enough for two uses, containing the pouch of powdered mask, a small wooden spoon to mix with, and a measuring cup.

You’re supposed to mix 3 tablespoons of mask with 45ml of water using the cup and spoon provided. I actually used my usual mask brush, a Morphe e9 to both mix and apply it. Only because I’m used to it.

Then you sort of put it in thickly and wait about 15 minutes for it to set.

On applying, I immediately notice how cooling and refreshing it feels. Perfect for this summer heat. Not sure I’d like using it in colder weather, however.

It peels off rather easily and pain free. The remnants can be removed with a warm, wet cloth.

Overall, it was quick refreshing and nice. My skin feel cool and clean after. Also very smooth. I would recommend this.

And that’s my thoughts for today! See you soon!

July Favorites — July 28, 2016

July Favorites

Hey! It’s that time to share with you all the things I’ve been obsessing about this month! Let’s jump right in!

The thing that’s made my blowouts smoother: Moroccan Oil Blow Dry Concentrate. Actually did hydrate my hair, instead of just dosing it with a bunch of silicones.

How my bleached hair doesn’t look like straw: Healthy Sexy Hair Color Prolonging and Repairing Treatment. This works. Enough said. Also got it at an amazing price.

The skincare item I could feel working: Queen Helene Mud Pack Masque. I’m kind of obsessed with this stuff. How often do you think it’s okay to use?

And of course a glitter: Violet Voss Glitter in Taylor. So multi dimensional. So beautiful. I want to bathe in it.

The product that’s changed my makeup game: Mehron Mixing Liquid. I can’t stop creating fun and exciting new waterproof eyeliners with this stuff.

The nail polish I’ve been loving: Deco Miami nail lacquer in Champagne Mami. Gorgeous any time of year.

The food I could’ve eaten every day: a vegan bacon cheeseburger from Champs Diner in Brooklyn. Yum!

The makeup look I loved most this month: my Fourth of July look.

The Mani I loved most this month: this one.

The new show I’ve been obsessed with: Stranger Things. Goodies meets old school Stephen King type of stuff. Just awesome.

The come back show I was most excited for: Mr. Robot. Yes. Just yes.

The silly show I binge watched on Netflix: Blue Mountain State. Silly. Grossly immature. A great dumbed down show to watch when you’ve got nothing better to do.

The song I couldn’t stop listening to: Fergie’s M.I.L.F. $ Just listen to it. Or watch the video. You’ll get it.

The book I couldn’t put down: Son by Lois Lowry. Admittedly meant for a younger audience, the conclusion to my favorite series of all time, I actually both read it and listened to the audio book this month.

The album I had on repeat: Niykee Heaton’s The Bedroom Tour Playlist. This is a couple of years old, but if you can’t feel sexy while blasting this, I’m not sure what you’re doing wrong.

And that’s all for today. I’ll see you Saturday with a new Face of the Day post!

February 2016 Favorites — February 25, 2016

February 2016 Favorites

Hey everyone! I cannot believe it’s already time for February favorites. Any way, here’s what I’ve been obsessing over this month:

What kept my eyes shining: As always, I have to include a Violet Voss glitter. This one is in the shade Teresa, a different color from my norm, but just plain gorgeous.

What kept my lips kissable: I couldn’t stop wearing Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita. It’s easy to apply, and a great everyday color.

What kept my face looking forward: Sunday Riley Artemis Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil. What a mouthful. This keeps my oils in check and my skin very glowy.

What kept my hair touchable soft: This Obliphica Seaberry Hair Mask almost works to well. Don’t plan on using this any time before an up do, because it almost leaves my hair too soft.

The show I was most excited to see return: there are no explanations needed here, I’m assuming.

The new show I’ve been super in to: Outsiders. There’s not an easy explanation with this one. Sort of Sons of Anarchy meets moonshine.

The food I couldn’t stop eating: I have eaten this pretty much every morning of this month. It’s just plain vanilla yogurt, strawberries, chocolate granila and sliced almonds.

The best moment of the month: I got to make a trip home to Florida this month, and I had a great time!

And that’s all this month! What were you obsessed with?

January 2016 Favorites — January 28, 2016

January 2016 Favorites

Hey! It’s time to stare all the things I’ve been obsessing over this past month.

Favorite moment: my little sister visited! I think I might have ran her ragged, but we had a great time. She got to experience the city like a real New Yorker, and got to visit some places she was super excited to see, like Carrie Bradshaw’s stoop!

What I wished I could eat every day: Shake Shack. There are no words to describe how yummy this is. Totally worth the crazy line I waited in to get it.

The show I was most excited to see return: Shameless. Hands down. One of my all time favorites.

Favorite New Show: The Shannara Chronicles. Weird. In a good way. Just imagine: elves, trolls, a magical tree, demons… It’s kind of crazy.

What I wanted to use on my eyes every day: Morphe 35O. Hands down. Look at all that warm goodness.

The skincare item I fell in love with: Que Bella Clarifying Cucumber Peel Off Mask. Smells amazing. Left my skin feeling super clean and soft.

Lip product I didn’t want to live without: Mirenesse Mattfinity Lip Rouge in London. Creamy, long lasting, beautiful color. Here’s a swatch for you:

Gorgeous winter nail color: Deco Miami Tied Down. I mean, just look at it.

Coolest thing I’ve seen lately: these weird 3D heads you can order to look just like you for Legos. I think I’ll be order some for my Aidan’s birthday this year.

And that’s all for today! I’ll see you Saturday with a Face of the Day post! 💋
This is not a sponsored post. I was sent the nail polish for fre. This in no way affects my opinion. As always, any opinions stated in above post are my own.
