Skincare Sunday: Matcha Green Tea, Coconut Oil and Water — July 28, 2019

Skincare Sunday: Matcha Green Tea, Coconut Oil and Water

Happy Skincare Sunday! This week’s DIY Face Mask is super-duper easy!

You start with 1 tspn Matcha, and mix in 1/2 tspn coconut oil and 1/2 tspn water.

Once mixed, apply to a clean, dry face and leave for 15 minutes.

Then just rinse and moisturize!

The green tea is antibacterial, and also contains high levels of EGCG, know to help with inflammation and helping even out skin tone. The antioxidants it contains also helps with acne and improves skin elasticity.

The coconut oil is obviously hydrating, but it can also help reduce inflammation. The fatty acids it contains also have antimicrobial properties.

And that’s all y’all! See you soon!

Face of the Day Friday

Hey guys! A a simple bright eyed look for you today!

I started by waking up my under eye area with The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG (duh!). I also applied some Smack Beauty Bat Those Lashes Volumizing Lash Serum to my upper lash line, hoping they’d continue to grow.

To prep my face for makeup, I patted on some NYX Professional Makeup Pore Filler. I also hydrated my lips with Grande Lips Hydrating Lip Plumper.

Next, I did some color correcting with a Morphe E9 Brush and my Ben Nye Media Pro Corrector Wheel. Then, to even out my complexion today, I applied The Ordinary Colours Coverage Foundation in 1.2YG, blending it in with a dampened Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.

For some definition in my face, I used a NYX Professional Makeup Wonder Stick Highlight and Contour Stick in Medium/Tan. To blend the contour color, I used a Morphe R9 Brush. To blend to highlight color, I used a Japonesque Fluff Concealer Brush. For my nose contour, I used a NYX Professional Makeup Micro Contour Pencil in Light, this time using the warmth of my fingers to blend it out.

For a very slight cheek color, I applied some Club Clio Peripera Ah! Much Real My Cushion Blusher in Pleased Pink. I also added some glow to my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose with Temptu Silicone Based Highlighter in Champagne Shimmer.

Using a Morphe G5 Brush, I set all that cream product by sweeping some Ben Nye Luxury Powder in Buff all over. I also went over the areas I earlier cream contoured with both a Smashbox Retractable Lip Brush and a Japonesque Kumadori Blending Brush and some Sephora Matte Perfection Powder Foundation in Deep Mocha.

For more cheek color, I used a Sigma F40 Brush to sweep on some Frankie Rose Cosmetics Blush in Peachy Pink. I also used my finger to pat some Lavender Stardust Aloe Vera Glitter Gel in Saturn onto my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose. (Because there’s no such thing as too much glitter!)

To fill in and shape my brows today, I used an Anastasia Duo Brush 7 and some By Nanda Long Lasting Coloring Eyebrow in 05. Using a Bare Minerals Max Coverage Concealer Brush, I cleaned up the edges with Jouer Cosmetics Perfector in Naturel.

And now for the eyes! Using a Morphe M505 Brush, I swept some Jouer Cosmetics Powder Eyeshadow in Pink Champagne into my crease.

After dampening a Morphe E14 Brush with some Mehron Mixing Liquid, I used it to pack some NYX Professional Makeup Pigment in Diamond onto my eyelids.

Taking a Sigma E30 Brush, I applied some NYX Professional Makeup Glitter Primer to my lower lash line. Then, using a Sigma E75 Brush, I added some Glamour Doll Eyes Pigment in Celestial Crow right on top of that.

After a couple coats of Velvet 59 My Fair Lashes Mascara, I decided to add some Kara Eyelashes in 415, using Duo Eyelash Adhesive to attach them.

To complete the look, I swept on some Mirenesse Mattfinity Lip Rouge in Sydney.

And that’s all y’all! See you soon!

Face of the Day Friday

Hey guys! Today I’ve brought you a simple bronzey eye look.

I started, as usual (duh!), by waking up my under eye area with The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG. Hoping my lashes would continue to grow, I also swept some Smack Beauty Bat Those Lashes Volumizing Lash Serum along my upper lash line.

To get my face ready for makeup, I applied NYX Professional Makeup Total Control Drop Primer. I also hydrated my lips with Smith’s Rosebud Salve Balm.

Using a Sigma 3DHD Kabuki Brush, I buffed some NYX Professional Makeup Total Control Drop Foundation in Natural all over to even out my complexion. I also applied some LA Girl Cosmetics Pro Conceal HD Concealer in Light Yellow Corrector to correct my under eyes circles, using a Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush to blend it out.

For some definition in my face, I cream contoured with LA Girl Cosmetics Pro Conceal HD Concealer in Toast, blending that out until my arm hurt with a dampened Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. I also then cream highlighted with Santee Cosmetics Just Kolour Invisible Cover Concealer in Vanilla, this time blending the crap out of it with a dampened Beauty Blender.

Using my finger, I added some color to my cheeks with Tata Harper Volumizing Lip and Cheek Tint in Very Charming. I also added some glow to my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose with The Beauty Crop Lighting Crew Highlighting Cream.

Using a Morphe E52 Brush, I set all that cream product with some Jouer Cosmetics Mineral Powder in Perle d’Ivoire. I also went over the areas I earlier cream contoured using both an e.l.f. Cosmetics Professional Powder Brush and a Morphe R41 Brush to give it even more depth with Palladio Matte Bronzer in Teeny Bikini.

For a little more cheek color, I used a Real Techniques Multi Task Brush to sweep on some Santee Cosmetics Sunkissed Mineral Formula Blush in 05. I also added even more glow (of course!) by using a Morphe M501 Brush to sweep on some Dose of Colors Baked Highlighter in Pearl Dust.

To fill in and shape my brows today, I grabbed a Sigma E65 Brush, and applied some NYX Professional Makeup Eyebrow Cake Powder in Dark Brown. I then used a Younique Cream Shadow Brush to clean up the edges with Dermacol Make-Up Cover Foundation in 209.

And now for the eyes! I grabbed a Frankie Rose Cosmetics 725 Brush and swept some NYC City Mono Eyeshadow in Luxury Reborn into my crease.

I then took a Morphe E32 Brush and patted some NYX Professional Makeup Glitter Primer onto my eyelids. I then used a Morphe E14 Brush to pack some Glamour Doll Eyes Pigment in Headless Heart right on top of that. I also ran some along my lower lash line.

After dampening an e.l.f. Cosmetics Professional Eyeshadow Brush with some Mehron Mixing Liquid, I used it to add some NYX Professional Makeup Face and Body Glitter in Copper to my eyelids.

After a couple coats of Grande Mascara Lash Boosting Formula, I decided to toss on some Kara Eyelashes in 747L , using Duo Brush On Adhesive with Vitamins to attach them.

Lastly, I completed the look by swiping on some Palladio Butter Me Up! Sheer Color Balm in Dulce.

And that’s all y’all! See you soon!

Thursday Thoughts: Beauty Trash

Hey guys! Time to come see everything I’ve used up and whether I would buy it again or leave it on the shelf!

Phyto Lightweight Hydrating Oil Leave-In: while this may be an okay product, it really just wasn’t enough for my thick hair.

Palladio Under Eyes Disguise Full-Coverage Concealer in Vanilla Latte: this is one of my absolute favorite concealers by far. Great coverage, but doesn’t feel too heavy or crease. It’s fantastic.

Duo Brush-On Adhesive with Vitamins: while this may be a more convenient application, I just can’t believe it’s very sanitary.

Essie Gel Setter Top Coat: I love this stuff. Really holds up.

AOA Studio Perfect Setting Powder: while it works, it has a slightly strange texture I honestly can’t get over.

Butcher Boy 100% Pure Refined Coconut Oil: well, I use this as makeup remover, but any coconut oil would honestly do.

Holika Holika Smooth Egg Skin Peeling Gel: this is the most disgusting and amazing product ever! Instant gratification. I love love love it!

Oribe Matte Waves Texture Lotion: this calms my frizz and creates super cute waves/curls in my thick hair.

Vasanti Eye Wonder 2.0 Super Powered Eye Cream: this is hydrating, but the older I get I’m looking for more in an eye cream.

KISS Professional Clear Acrylic Powder: it’s cheap and it works just fine.

Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels: these feel amazing! Perfect after not enough sleep or too much wine!

KNC Beauty All Natural Collagen Infused Lip Mask: I really don’t know why I ever pick these up. I don’t think I’ve found any lip mask that actually works. If you know of one, please let me know!

English Laundry Pour Femme: smells so yummy and sweet!

Too Faced Hangover Rx 3-in-1 Replenishing Primer and Setting Spray: while I live for a spray that can be used as both a setting and primer spray, this one wasn’t awesome enough to not continue to try new ones.

Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil: this was the perfect oil for my thick hair. Helped control frizz, but didn’t weigh my hair down.

And that’s all for now, y’all! See you soon!

Face of the Day Friday

Hey guys! Playing with some color today!

I started (as usual, duh!) by waking up my under eye area with The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG. I also (hoping for continued growth) ran some Smack Beauty Bat Those Lashes Volumizing Lash Serum along my upper lash line.

Because my face has been a little dry lately, I prepped my face for makeup with Acure Brilliantly Brightening Day Cream. I also hydrated my lips with Lip Smart Powerful Hydration for Dry Lips.

I also had some redness today (stupid hormones!), so I color corrected it with LA Girl Cosmetics Pro Conceal HD Concealer in Green Corrector, using a dampened Beauty Blender to blend it out. I then took a Japonesque Multitasker Brush and buffed on some Frankie Rose Cosmetics Matte Perfection Foundation in Bare to even out my complexion.

To create some depth on my face, I cream contoured and highlighted with a NYX Professional Makeup Sculpt and Highlight Face Duo in Taupe/Ivory, blending it out until my arm aches with a dampened Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.

For some cheek color, I used my fingers to apply some Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Creme Colour Concentrate in Grandma. I also added some glow to my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose with Manna Kadar Sheer Glo Shimmer Lotion.

Using a Vera Mona Cake and Bake Makeup Sponge, I set the areas I earlier cream highlighted by patting on some RCMA No-Color Powder. After a few minutes, I grabbed a Morphe M500 Brush and swept off the excess powder. I also used both a Morphe G18 Brush and a Morphe M530 Brush to deepen the areas I earlier cream contoured with the dark shades from my Frankie Rose Cosmetics Pro Contour Palette.

For a little more cheek color, I used a Sigma F15 Brush to sweep on some NYX Professional Makeup Powder Blush in Pinched. I also added more glow (sorry guys!) using a Morphe M501 Brush and some Dose of Colors Baked Highlighter in Peach Glow.

To fill in and shape my brows today, I used a Morphe E38 Brush and some Inglot AMC Brow Liner Gel in 20. I then set them with Model in a Bottle Long Lasting Eyebrow Sealer. To clean up the edges, I used a Morphe M508 Brush and some Dermablend Professional Cover Creme in Natural Beige.

And now for all the fun color!

Using a Morphe M330 Brush, I created a base that would be easier to blend on by sweeping some Wet n Wild Color Icon Single Shadow in Brûlée into my crease.

Next, I added some e.l.f. Cosmetics Single Eyeshadow in Totally Teal into my crease using a Morphe E17 Brush. I also added some to my eyelids using a Morphe E14 Brush.

After dampening a Real Techniques Brow Brush with some Mehron Mixing Liquid, i used it to smudge some NYX Professional Makeup Pigment in Twinkle Twinkle to my lower lash line.

Next, I added a couple coats of L’Oréal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara. I decided that wasn’t enough drama, so I threw on a pair of Red Cherry Eyelashes in 415, using Duo Eyelash Adhesive to attach them.

To complete the look, I applied some LA Splash Cosmetics Lip Couture Waterproof Liquid Lipstick in Lollipop.

And that’s all y’all! See you soon!

Thursday Thoughts: Beauty Trash

Hey guys! It’s time to dig through my beauty trash and let you know if I’d buy the stuff all over again or leave it on the shelf!

Masque Bar Garnet Glitter Peel Off Mask: of only for the Instagram-worthy pics, yes I’d repurchase.

Exuviance Performance Peel AP25: I’m not sure I saw much of a difference after use, maybe a slight one. For that, I’d just leave them on the shelf and try something else.

Glamglow Mud to Foam Youth Cleanse Daily Exfoliating Cleanser: I wanted to love this. I mean it’s glam glow, how could you not? I also did live the green version of this. But this one? Hated it. Too harsh on my skin, and I’m super oily and not at all sensitive usually.

Smack Beauty Save My Skin Firming Collagen Cream: this was nice. Nothing special, though. I’d probably just grab something else to try and leave this one behind.

Joico Heat Set Blowout Perfecting Creme: this is great stuff. The only reason I’d leave it behind now, is I’m really trying not to use heat in my hair much these days.

Twinkle Eyebrow Razor: I used to be obsessed with these. But since I’ve tried the dermaplaner from Stacked Skincare, these would definitely stay on the shelf.

Aztec Secrets Indian Healing Clay: there is nothing else that can even closely compare to this stuff. Of course I’d buy it again!

Ahava Time to Clear Refreshing Cleansing Gel: I lovvvved the way this made my skin feel. Clean, but not at all stripped. A really great option for oily skin.

Cinema Secrets Volcanic Lip Scrub: if this applied from the tube, sure. But I found it wanting to break off, almost like it’s a softened lipstick. So pretty much defeats the purpose.

Deciem The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil: very nice. I’m a huge fan of Deciem anyway, so this one is a no brainer.

AOA Studio Wonder Skin Illuminating Primer: listen. This is awesome. And. I. Only. Paid. One. Dollar. For. It. Definitely getting several more!

Chanel No. 5 Eau de Toilette: I mean, come on. This is what everyone should smell like.

Frankie Rose Cosmetics Blush in Romantica: this is the perfect no blush-blush look for me. A little color without looking like I applied anything.

Pixi Glow Tonic to Go Exfoliating Toner Pad: even after one use, I feel like my skin looked different. I think I’ll continue to purchase.

Masque Bar Pretty Animalz Unicorn Anti-Imperfection Sheet Mask: I meannnnn…. it’s cute for Instagram posts. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Soo’AE V Line Chin Up Mask: I wanted to love this. But I think I preferred the Dr. Jart one, to be honest. Not enough of even a temporary difference with this one.

Equate Night-Time Soothing Makeup Remover Towelettes: y’all know I’m not really a fan of makeup wipes. But sometimes in a pinch or after a long night )or when I’m being lazy tbh,) a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do. These work okay got those times.

And that’s all, y’all! See you soon!
