Face of the Day Friday

Hey guys! Just a simple bright-eyed look for you today!

I started (as usual duh!) by waking up my under eye area with The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG. I also ran some Smack Beauty Bat Those Lashes Volumizing Lash Serum along my upper lash line so they’ll keep growing.

Because I had a little redness today, I patted on some e.l.f. Cosmetics Tone Adjusting Face Primer in Neutralizing Green. I also hydrated my lips with Korres Pomegranate Lip Butter.

Using a Real Techniques Essential Foundation Brush, I corrected my under eye circles with a combination of the orange and peach shades from my Ben Nye Media Pro Corrector Wheel. I then evened out my complexion with Jouer Cosmetics Luminizing Moisture Tint in Pearl, using a Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge to blend the crap out of it.

Next, I used an e.l.f. Cosmetics Contouring Brush to give my face some definition by cream contouring with Jouer Cosmetics Perfector in Chestnut. I also cream highlighted using a Japonesque Fluff Concealer Brush and some Jouer Cosmetics Perfector in Ivory.

For a flush to my cheeks, I used my fingers to apply some Tata Harper Volumizing Lip and Cheek Tint in Very Charming. I also added some glow to my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose by using my fingers to pat on some Inika Light Reflect Highlighting Creme.

Using a Morphe G5 Brush, I set all that cream product with Ben Nye Pretty Pink Translucent Powder. I also went over the areas I earlier cream contoured using both a Japonesque Kumadori Blending Brush and a Morphe R41 Brush and some Palladio Matte Bronzer in Teeny Bikini to give it more depth.

For more cheek color, I grabbed a Real Techniques Multi Task Brush, and used it to sweep on some Jouer Cosmetics Powder Blush in Peony. I also used a Morphe M501 Brush to add even more glow to my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose with some Inglot Sparkling Dust for Face, Eyes and Body in 03.

To fill in and shape my brows today, I used a Morphe M413 Brush and By Nanda Long Lasting Coloring Eyebrow in 05. I then cleaned up the edges with Dermacol Make-Up Cover Foundation in 209, using a Bare Minerals Max Coverage Concealer Brush.

Now for the eyes! I started off my applying Jouer Cosmetics Powder Eyeshadow in Peach into and above my crease using a Sigma E40 Brush, to create a smooth surface and make blending easier.

Next I used a Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush to sweep some Wet n Wild Color Icon Single Shadow in Nutty into my crease.

After dampening an e.l.f. Cosmetics Professional Eyeshadow Brush with some Mehron Mixing Liquid, I used it to pack some NYX Professional Makeup Pigment in Brighten Up onto my eyelids.

After adding a couple coats of Lancôme Mon Sieur Big Mascara, I decided to add some more drama with some Kleancolor Angelic Wink Lashes in 118, using Duo Eyelash Adhesive to attach them.

I finished off the look by sweeping on some Smashbox Lipgloss in Afterglow.

And that’s all y’all! See you soon!

I also went over the areas I earlier cream contoured using both a Morphe E56 Brush and a Smashbox Retractable Lip Brush to give it even more depth with some Sephora Matte Perfection Foundation in Deep Mocha.

Because I wanted more of a flush to my cheeks, I used. Sigma F15 Brush to sweep on some Frankie Rose Cosmetics Blush in Romantica. I also added even more glow to my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose with a Morphe M501 Brush and some Forever 21 Rainbow Highlighter.

To fill in and shape my brows today, I used a Morphe E38 Brush and some Inglot AMC Brow Liner Gel in 20. I then used a Morphe M508 Brush to clean up the edges with Jouer Cosmetics Perfector in Naturel.

Skincare Sunday: DIY Egg White and Sugar Face Mask — June 16, 2019

Skincare Sunday: DIY Egg White and Sugar Face Mask

Hey guys! Bringing you a DIY egg white and sugar face mask today! (I know it’s basically meringue!)

Mix one egg white with 1 tablespoon of sugar. Do this in a ceramic or metal container or it will not whip properly. Whip it until stiff peaks form. Trust me, your arm will hurt!

Apply to a clean, dry face.

After 10-15 minutes, wash off.

The egg white helps pores appear smaller by tightening the skin. They are also high in protein which can help heal skin. It’s also a natural astringent, so can help with oily skin.

The sugar is a natural form of glycolic acid. This helps promote cell turnover, leaving behind glowing, younger looking skin.

And that’s all y’all! See you soon!

Thursday Thoughts: Phlur — June 13, 2019

Thursday Thoughts: Phlur

Hey guys! I’ve been seeing this thing called Phlur all over social media. I finally caved and bought a sampler set to test out. The picture above is what you get when you open the box.

When you flip that over, it cutely is written Prepared Just For Amy.

When you open that, you see another box, sealed with a foil sticker and a few papers.

The papers break down notes of the scents included, and how they wear throughout the hours you’re wearing them. I chose the scents in Moab, Siano and Greylocke.

After unsealing the foil sticker, you see the fragrances finally. Essentially, they are sample sizes you can typically get anywhere, or ones that are included in a lot of subscription beauty boxes.

Phlur costs $18. This will be applied asa credit if you decide to invest in a full size scent after trying.

Asa brand, they sell themselves as a very environmentally friendly company. The ingredients are responsibly sourced, their packaging is hugely recycled (they even use vegetable based paint!).

They are cruelty-free, and leaping bunny certified. They also donate more than 1% of their proceeds to environmental programs.

Overall, I’m fairly impressed. The fragrances themselves smell unlike any other. More mysterious, darker, almost peppery. I’ll definitely have trouble deciding which to pick up when I run out of these!

See y’all soon!
