Skincare Sunday: Rice, Honey and Milk — December 30, 2018

Skincare Sunday: Rice, Honey and Milk

Hey guys! Today I’m trying a Rice, Honey and Milk DIY Face Mask. Let’s start by gathering your materials.

  • 3 Tbsp uncooked rice
  • 1 Tbsp Honey
  • 1 Tbsp Milk
  • Pot of water
  • Rag
  • Something to mix with
  • Container to mix in

Start by boiling the rice in a pot of water for two minutes. Drain raise but keep the water aside.

Mix the rice, honey and milk together.

Apply to clean, dry face and let dry.

After it’s dry, remove with rag using the leftover rice water.

The rice contains natural antioxidants, which can help fight the damage done by free radicals.

The honey is antibacterial, so it’s good for acne prone skin. It’s also full of antioxidants, so more anti-aging properties. It’s also hydrating, so can leave skin smooth and glowing.

The milk contains lactic acid, which can help shed dead skin cells. It’s also hydrating, so it won’t leave the skin irritated.

The rice water acts as a toner. It promotes cell growth, stimulates blood flow, and it said to tighten pores.

Overall, my skin felt wonderful after using this. I found the mask part a little too messy, but I think I will start keeping some rice water around.

See you soon!

Face of the Day Friday — December 28, 2018

Face of the Day Friday

Hey guys! Playing with a little green today!

I started as usual by waking up my under eye area with The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG. I also swept some Smack Beauty Bat Those Lashes Volumizing Lash Serum along my upper lash line.

To prep my face for makeup, I patted on some Glamazon Beauty Mystical Veil Primer. I also went ahead and hydrated my lips with some Smith’s Rosebud Salve Balm.

To even out my complexion, I applied some L’Oréal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation in Natural Buff, and buffed it in with a dampened Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.

Using an e.l.f. Cosmetics Contouring Brush, I added some definition back into my face with some Jouer Cosmetics Perfector in Chestnut. I again used a dampened Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge to blend.

To highlight the usual areas and conceal under my eyes, I used some Palladio Under Eyes Disguise Full Coverage Concealer in Vanilla Latte and buffed it in with a Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush.

To add a little flush to my cheeks, I used my fingers to add some Tata Harper Volumizing Lip and Cheek Tint in Very Charming.

To set all that, I grabbed an e.l.f. Cosmetics Professional Powder Brush and swept some RCMA No-Color Powder all over.

To again add some more depth, I used my Frankie Rose Cosmetics Pro Contour Palette. For the contouring with the darker shades, I used both a Japonesque Kumadori Blending Brush and a Morphe E30 Brush. For highlighting with the lighter colors, I used a Sigma F40 Brush.

For even more of a healthy flush, I grabbed a Morphe G5 Brush and swept some Frankie Rose Cosmetics Blush in Peachy Pink along my cheeks.

I also wanted some glow! You know I couldn’t just skip it today. So I used a Morphe M310 Brush to sweep some Forever 21 Rainbow Highlighter along my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose.

To fill in and shape my brows, I used a Japonesque Travel Angled Brow Brush and some NYX Professional Makeup Eyebrow Cake Powder in Dark Brown. I cleaned up the edges with a Morphe M508 Brush and a tiny bit of Dermacol Make-Up Cover Foundation in 209.

Now for the fun part! I started my eyes with my Morphe 35E Palette. Using a Frankie Rose Cosmetics 725 Brush, I created a transition shade with the color in the fifth column, first row. I then took a Real Techniques Domed Shadow Brush and added the color from the fourth column, fifth row into my crease.

Next I took a Morphe E32 Brush and patted some NYX Professional Makeup Glitter Primer onto my eyelids. Right on top of that, I used a Morphe E14 Brush to pack on some Ben Nye Lumiere Luxe Powder in Mermaid Sparkle.

For my winged liner today, I used a NYX Professional Makeup That’s the Point Put a Wing on it Artistry Eyeliner.

Now a couple coats of Lancôme Mon Sieur Big Mascara. And for even more drama, I threw on some Violet Voss Premium Lashes in Eye DGAF, using some Duo Eyelash Adhesive.

I swiped on some Arbonne Matte Lip Cream in Jasmine, and completed the look with some Arbonne Lip Gloss in Begonia.

And that’s all! See you soon!

Skincare Sunday: Avocado, Lemon Juice, Olive Oil and Honey — December 23, 2018

Skincare Sunday: Avocado, Lemon Juice, Olive Oil and Honey

Hey guys! This is a mask I saw on Pinterest. It was labeled “Japanese Face Mask”, although I’m unsure why.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1/4 avocado
  • Juice of 1 slice of lemon
  • 1/2 TBSP Olive Oil
  • 1 TBSP Honey
  • Something to mix with
  • Container to combine ingredients
  • 2 warm, wet rags

Combine avocado, lemon juice, olive oil and honey.

Looks gross, huh? I think so, too.

Place a warm, wet rag over your face for two to three minutes to open up your pores.

Apply face mask.

The avocado contains vitamin E, which is very hydrating. The fatty acids it contains also promote collagen production.

The lemon juice is antibacterial, so it’s good for acne prone skin. It also contains vitamin C, which is useful in lightening dark spots and overall brightening.

The olive oil is full of antioxidants, which is great to help fight the aging process. It’s all full of squalene, which is super hydrating.

The honey is also antibacterial, so agin it’s good for acne prone skin. It’s also full of antioxidants, so it helps fight the damage of free radicals. It’s also extremely hydrating, so can leave skin soft and smooth.

After 15 minutes, remove.

Overall, this mask left my skin feeling very soft and hydrated. I would definitely repeat it.

See you soon!
