Face of the Day Friday

Hey guys! I have really wanted to do a glittery smokey eye lately, so I figured I’d share it with you.

As usual, I started by waking my under eye area up with The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG. I also swept some Smack Beauty Bat Those Lashes Volumizing Lash Serum along my lash line.

To hydrate my lips, I applied some Lip Smart Powerful Hydration for Dry Lips. I also sprayed some Skindinavia Makeup Primer Spray on.

To even out my skin tone, I used a Japonesque Multitasker Brush to buff on some Dr. Jart + Black Label Detox Beauty Balm. To add a little definition, I used both a Sigma E75 Brush and a e.l.f. Cosmetics Contouring Brush to add some Jouer Cosmetics Perfector in Chestnut. I blended the crap out of it with a dampened Beauty Blender.

To conceal under my eyes and highlight the center area of my face, I used a Real Techniques Essential Foundation Brush to add some Palladio Under Eyes Disguise Full Coverage Concealer in Vanilla Latte.

For some cheek color, I used the heat of my fingers to melt some Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Creme Colour Concentrate in Grandma onto my cheeks.

I also added some NYX Professional Makeup Strobe of Genius Holographic Stick in Mermaid Armor to my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose.

To set all that, I grabbed my e.l.f. Cosmetics Professional Powder Brush and swept some Ben Nye Pretty Pink Translucent Powder all over. Over the contoured areas, I used a Morphe R41 Brush and a Morphe M530 Brush to add some Palladio Matte Bronzer in Teeny Bikini.

For some more cheek color, I use a Sigma F15 Brush to all a little Jouer Cosmetics Powder Blush in Blossom. And for even more glow, I used a Morphe M310 Brush to add some Dose of Colors Baked Highlighter in Pearl Dust to my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose.

To fill in and shape my brows today, I used some By Nanda Long Lasting Coloring Eyebrows in 05. To clean up the edges, I used a Younique Cream Shadow Brush and a wee bit of Dermacol Make-Up Foundation in 209.

Now for the fun part! Today I used my NYX Professional Makeup Perfect Filter Shadow Palette in Gloomy Days.

For a transition shade, I used a Morphe M505 Brush to sweep on some of the shade in the fourth column, bottom.

Into my crease, I used a Sigma E30 Brush to add some of the top left corner color.

Onto my lower lash line, I used a Morphe E14 Brush to smudge on some of the color in the second column, bottom.

Next I sort of scribbled some NYX Professional Makeup Jumbo Eye Pencil in Black Bean onto my eyelids. I used a Morphe E32 Brush to spread it around more evenly.

Now for the sparkle! I used a Morphe E14 Brush to pat some Ben Nye Lumiere Luxe Powder in Starry Night Sparkle right on top of that Black Bean.

I threw on a couple of coats of L’Oréal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara. I also added a pair of Red Cherry Lashes in 415 with a little Duo Eyelash Adhesive.

To finish off the look, I applied some NYX Professional Makeup Matte Lipstick in Merlot.

Thursday Thoughts: Glambot — November 29, 2018

Thursday Thoughts: Glambot

Hey guys! Today I’ll be talking about something a little different. I recently heard about this company called Glambot.

Basically, you can send them your used makeup now, the money you get is a significantly lower amount that retail, because it’s used. But for blogger like me, who tend to hoard stuff, I thought I would give it a try.

Here’s what typically happens to makeup I own (Especially palettes, for some reason):

  1. I get the item.
  2. I swatch it for you guys.
  3. I play with it once or twice.
  4. It sits on my shelf collecting dust.

This is where Glambot comes in.

Don’t get overly excited! There are some rules.

  • Accepted brands only (listed on site)
  • Not expired
  • Authentic
  • At least 50% of product left
  • Packaging is in good condition
  • Brushes clean or new only
  • No lashes, skincare, bags, or items with reusable applicators (think mascara and lipgloss)
  • You have to send at least 20 items (30 for international)

There’s even a calculator on the site where you can get an estimate on what you’ll receive for each item.

I decided to give it a go. I requested a label from them, which is very easy and quick. Then I set about choosing what to send. I have a ton of stuff I could sell, but I wanted simply to try it for you all. Then, if it’s any good, maybe I’ll continue the service. Here’s what I sent:

  • Stila Stay All Day 10-in-1 HD Beauty Balm
  • Sephora Lipsticks in Crush, Flamingo, Jealous
  • NARS Lipsticks in Jungle Red, Joyous Red, Mayflower
  • Gerard Cosmetics Lipstick in Underground
  • Too Faces Mystical Highlighter in Unicorn Tears
  • NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow in Callisto
  • Violet Voss Glitters in Coppertini, The Fair, Rosalind, Teresa, Taylor, Hella Amazing, Kona, Penny
  • Ben Nye Sparklers in Brilliant Purple, Black Diamond, Fire Red
  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Sin
  • Ben Nye Lumiere Luxe Powders in Indian Copper,
  • MAC Cosmetics Pigment in Tan
  • Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Cosmetic Colour Pencil in Pool Boy
  • Sephora Perfection Mist Airbrush Foundation in Light
  • BH Cosmetics Wild and Radiant Baked Illuminating and Bronzing Palette
  • Morphe Palettes: 12P, 12NB, 9B, 9BZ, 35S, 06F, 06PC
  • NARS Steven Klein One Shocking Moment Cheek Studio Palette

  • BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel 10 Color Eyeshadow and 4 Color Highlighter Palette

So I will let you guys know how it goes! See you soon!

Skincare Sunday: Yogurt and Lemon — November 25, 2018

Skincare Sunday: Yogurt and Lemon

Hey guys! Another DIY face mask for you this week.

Gather your ingredients:

  • 2 tspns lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • Small container to mix in
  • Something to mix with
  • Warm, wet rag for removal

Mix the yogurt and lemon juice together. Carefully apply to your face, making sure to avoid the eye area (trust me, your eyes don’t like lemon juice).

The yogurt will help exfoliate away dead skin due to the lactic acid. This helps with dark spot, fine lines and wrinkles, and dull skin. It’s also very moisturizing.

The lemon juice is high in vitamin c, a it helps brighten your skin. It’s also antibacterial, which can help with acne.

After 20 minutes, remove with a warm, wet rag, and apply some moisturizer.

Overall, this mask was less harsh feeling than some of the other lemon ones I tried. I really enjoyed it.

I also corrected the dark circles under my eyes with some LA Girl Cosmetics Pro Conceal HD Concealer in Light Yellow Corrector, blending it in with a Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush.

To add some depth and definition, I used a NYX Professional Makeup Sculpt and Highlight Face Duo in Taupe/Ivory, blending that until my arms hurt with a Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. For my now contour, however, I used a NYX Professional Makeup Micro-Contour Duo Pencil in Light, this time using my warmth of my fingers to blend.

For a cheek flush, I dabbed on some Tata Harper Volumizing Lip and Cheek Tint in Very Charming, just using my fingers again. I also used my fingers to dab some Unicorn Oil Illuminating Glow Elixir in Celestial onto my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose.

Onto my eyelids, I used an e.l.f. Cosmetics Professional Eyeshadow Brush and the color Tiger Lily.

Skincare Sunday: Lemon and Egg White — November 18, 2018

Skincare Sunday: Lemon and Egg White

Hey guys! Another DIY face mask for you this week.

Gather your materials:

  • 1 tspn lemon juice
  • 1 egg white
  • Small container
  • Something to mix with
  • Warm, wet rag

Mix together one egg white and one tspn of lemon juice.

Apply to face. Mixture will be runny so be careful not to get it in your eyes.

The lemon juice contains vitamin C and alpha hydroxy acids. Lemon juice helps exfoliate away dead’s skin cells. It also helps with dark spots and stimulates collagen production.

The yogurt contains lactic acid, zinc and calcium. Yogurt helps exfoliate. It can help I can also help with fine line and wrinkles, as well as large pores. It disinfects and moisturizes at the same time.

At the end your face will feel tight, similar to a having on a peel of mask that’s dried. Remove all traces with a warm cloth and follow with moisturizer.

Overall, this mask was nice. You’d need more than one use to see results.
