Face of the Day  — July 23, 2017

Face of the Day

Hey! This week I brought you this sultry purple look. Here’s how I got it:

I started with Murad Oil-Control Mattifier to combat the horribleness of shiny skin in the middle of the day. I concealed under my eyes with LA Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer in Light Yellow and other areas with LA Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer in Light Ivory. Then I blended the crap out of that with a dampened Beauty Blender.

I added some color with a Sigma f40 and some Palladio Matte Bronzer in No Tan Lines. I set the areas I concealed with some Ben Nye Luxury Powder in Cameo. I swept away the excess with a Morphe e41 and blended once again with a Morphe m530.

For some color on my cheeks, I grabbed a Sigma f15 and swept on some Jouer Bronzer in Sunshine.

I mapped out my brow shape with a NYX Cosmetics Micro Brow Pencil in Brunette. I filled them in and shaped them with an Anastasia Duo Brush 7 and some NYX Cosmetics Eyebrow Gel in Chocolate.

I prepped my eyes with a Sigma e58 and a smidge of NYX Cosmetics Eyeshadow Base in Skin Tone.

I then grabbed my Sigma e40 and applied the Soirée shade from my Blackheart Magic Spell Palette as a transition shade. I used a Sigma e30 to apply some of the Spotlight shade deeper into the crease. I blended that out with a Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush.

I used a Morphe e14 and a Morphe m508 to add some of the Spotlight shade to the inner and outer eyelids and the lower lash line.

I used an e.l.f. Cosmetics Professional Eyeshadow Brush to add some of the Tinsel shade to the center of the eyelids.

To highlight the brow bones, I used another e.l.f. Cosmetics Professional Eyeshadow Brush and some NYX Cosmetics Hot Singles Eyeshadow in Lace.

I doused myself in Ben Nye Final Seal Matte Makeup Sealer and said a quick prayer that all the hard work I did wouldn’t just melt off.

I threw on some L’Oréal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara. I lined and filled in my lips with NYX Cosmetics Lipliner in Mauve. I topped that off with a little shine of Palladio Plump n Shine Plumping Lipgloss in Crystal Ice.

And that’s all for today. I’ll see you soon!

Morphe 35R Swatches — July 20, 2017

Morphe 35R Swatches

Hey! I grabbed the Morphe 35R Palette this week and figured I’d share some swatches with you.

So it’s a lot of neutrals and golden shades.

This is the first row.

And the second.

And the third.

And the fourth.

And the last.

Beautiful, right? So glad I grabbed it. I promise I’ll use it in a look soon!

Mask Monday — July 17, 2017

Mask Monday

This week I tried the Masque Bar Oxygen Bubble Sheet Mask. It was super interesting to see it at work.

This is pretty much how it looks when you first apply it. It starts to tickle some, because it bubbles up really quickly.

And this is how it looks moments later.

At the end, my skin felt super clean. It was okay, and definitely an experience, but I don’t know if I will try it again. I just like to try new things, and I’m not sure if this was special enough to stay in the rotation.

See you soon!

Face of the Day  — July 15, 2017

Face of the Day

Hey! So this week I decided to switch it up and do something more colorful. I played a bit with the BH Cosmetics Take Me to Brazil Eyeshadow Palette.

I started with a Sigma e58 and some NYX Cosmetics Eyeshadow Base in White. Then I used a Sigma e40 to apply a transition shade with Stila Eyeshadow in Puppy.

I used my Sigma e30 to precisely apply the 7×3 color from the BH Cosmetics Take Me to Brazil Eyeshadow Palette.

I then used an e.l.f. Cosmetics Professional Eyeshadow Brush to apply the following colors from the same eyeshadow palette to my eyelids: 5×2 in the inner part, 6×1 to the middle, and 7×2 to the outer part.

I then concealed and highlighted under my eyes using a mixture of LA Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealers in Light Ivory and Natural. I blended that out with a dampened Beauty Blender.

I set that with a Morphe e41 and some Ben Nye Fair Translucent Powder. I added some color with a Sigma f40 and a bit of Anastasia Contour Powders in Java and Fawn. I blended that out with a Morphe m530 until my arms hurt.

I also faked a flush with a Sigma f15 and some Jouer Powder Blush in Peony. I then blended (again!) with a Real Techniques Multi Task Brush.
Then, to fake a glow, I used a Morphe m310 to sweep on some Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder in Mermaid Fantasy.

Now for the all important brows. I shaped them and filled them in with an Anastasia Duo Brush 7 and some NYX Cosmetics Eyebrow Gel in Chocolate. I also darkened them up a bit with NYX Cosmetics Eyebrow Powder in Dark Brown. I cleaned up the edges with a Sigma e58 and some Dermablend Professional Cover Creme in Natural Beige.

I then used an e.l.f. Cosmetics Professional Eyeshadow Brush to highlight my brow bones with NYX Cosmetics Hot Singles Eyeshadow in Lace.

Then I drenched myself in Ben Nye Final Seal Matte Makeup Sealer and said a quick prayer to the makeup gods that my hard work stays put.

I prepped my lashes with Lorac Pro Lash Pomade. I then tossed on some Red Cherry Lashes in 415 with the usual Duo Eyelash Adhesive.

I smeared on some Violet Voss Liquid Lipstick in Risqué and patted some Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder in Mermaid Fantasy in the center.

And that’s all! See you soon!
