Mani Monday

Happy Mani Monday! The last couple of weeks at work have been super rough, and even rougher in my nails.

So, in the mean time I just popper on these Nailhur Criss Cross Style Stiletto Nails. They are super easy to use, and are even reusable.

For those of you wondering, the ice cream tat isn’t real, it’s an Inked by Dani Mani Pack one. There’s tons in the pack, but with the warmer weather I was really feeling this one.

See you soon!

Face of the Day — May 27, 2017

Face of the Day

Hello everyone! I’ve been really missing glitter lately, so I decided to throw some in for you today. Here’s how I got the look:

I started by prepping my face with Murad Oil-Control Mattifier. This is super great at controlling my oil throughout the day.

I then concealed and highlighted under my eyes and down the center of my face with LA Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer in Light Yellow and Light Ivory. I blended that out with a dampened Beauty Blender.

For some dimension, I grabbed a Sigma f40 and lightly contoured with some Palladio Matte Bronzer in No Tan Lines. I used the same dampened Beauty Blender to apply some Morphe Translucent Powder baking style. I swept away the excess with a Morphe e41. I then blended until my arms hurt with a Morphe m530.

To fake a flush, I used a Sigma f15 to sweep on some NARS Blush in Orgasm. I once again blended with a Real Techniques Multi Task Brush.

To fake a glow, I used a Morphe m310 to sweep some BH Cosmetics Wild and Radiant Baked Illuminating and Bronzing Palette (colors all kinda swirled together on my brush) along my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose.

Now for the fun part! Eyes!

I started with a Sigma e30 and placed some NYX Cosmetics Hot Singles Eyeshadow in Maneater into my crease. I used a Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush to blend that out.

Next, I dampened a Morphe e14 with some Mehron Mixing Liquid. I used that to pat some NYX Cosmetics Pigment in Potion on to my eyelids.

Next I dampened a Sigma e55 with some more Mehron Mixing Liquid. I used that to pat some NYX Cosmetics Face and Body Glitter in Rose on to the center of my eyelids.

For my lower lash line, I used a Morphe m508 to smudge some purple shade from the Morphe 12p Palette.

I shaped and filled in my brows with an Anastasia Duo Brush 7 and some NYX Cosmetics Eyebrow Gel in Chocolate. I cleaned up the edges with a Sigma e58 and some Dermablend Professional Cover Creme in Natural Beige.

I added a wing with LA Splash Cosmetics Art-ki-tekt Waterproof Slim Eyeliner.

Then I drenched my face in some Ben Nye Final Seal Matte Makeup Sealer.

I added some color to my lips with a smudge of NYX Cosmetics Butter Lipstick in Gumdrop, and topped that off with some Palladio Plump n Shine Plumping Lipgloss in Crystal Ice.

I added a couple of layers of L’Oréal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara.

To complete the look, I used some Duo Eyelash Adhesive to add the top pair from the Violet Voss Eye Believe in Unicorns Lashes.

I’ll see you soon!

Let’s Talk: Danielle Erase Your Face Reusable Makeup Removing Cloth — May 23, 2017

Let’s Talk: Danielle Erase Your Face Reusable Makeup Removing Cloth

We all remember the Makeup Eraser craze. It was a makeup erasing cloth that cost about twenty dollars that people got super into. Since that time, I’ve discovered a much cheaper alternative. This is the Danielle Erase Your Face Reusable Makeup Removing Cloth. This costs less than half of the price of the original. Or you can even grab a four pack for $9.99 at someplaces!

So, as you can see, all you need to do is dampen the cloth to use it. Then just go to town removing all your makeup.

Here I’ve tried to remove about half my makeup so you can see how well it works. (Excuse the horrible lighting and hair, please. It was super late at night.)

I’d say it works! Definitely worth grabbing!

Alright. I’ll see you soon!

Mask Monday: Bliss Mask A-‘Peel’ Complexion Clearing Rubberizing Mask — May 22, 2017

Mask Monday: Bliss Mask A-‘Peel’ Complexion Clearing Rubberizing Mask

This week I decided to test out the Bliss Mask A-‘Peel’ Complexion Clearing Rubberizing Mask.  I picked this up for ten dollars, and it’s a once time use.

When you open the box, here’s what it looks like.

Inside is a small foil sealed cup (that feels almost empty) and a plastic spatula.

You basically fill the powder filled cup with cold water to the fill line, and stir with the spatula. Then you use the same spatula to apply it to your  face.

Which basically worked okay, until I was almost done. At that point, I realized I didnt really mix it well enough. I left it in for about 20 minutes.

At which point it was dry and easily peeled off.

After that, I just washed away the leftovers with warm water.

Overall, I didn’t see much difference in my skin after using this. I’m not sure I’d spend the money on it again. I’ve definitely used other peel off type masks that did more.

I’ll see you soon!

Face of the Day  — May 20, 2017

Face of the Day

Hey! So this week I wanted to play with colors I don’t typically reach for. Here’s what I came up with.

I started by prepping my face with a few spritzes of Skindinavia Makeup Primer Spray.

Then I concealed and highlighted my face with LA Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealers in Light Ivory and Light Yellow. I blended that out until my arms hurts with a dampened Beauty Blender.

To add some definition and depth, I used a Sigma f40 to lightly contour with some Palladio Matte Bronzer in No Tan Lines. I once again blended with a Morphe m530.

I then used my Beauty Blender to apply some Ben Nye Luxury Powder in Cameo to the areas of my face I like to highlight. I waited a couple of moments, then used a Morphe e41 to sweep away the excess.

For a bit of flush on my cheeks, I grabbed a Sigma f15 and swept on some Palladio Matte Blush in Chic. Then I once again blended with a Real Techniques Multi Task Brush.

For a nice glow, I swept some Ben Nye Shimmer Powder in Cameo Shimmer along my cheek bones and down the bridge of my nose with a Morphe m310.

Now on to the eyes. I grabbed a Sigma e30 and put some NYX Cosmetics Nude Matte Shadow in Betrayal into my crease. I blended that out with a Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush.

I dampened a Morphe e14 with some Mehron Mixing Liquid and used that to pack some Ben Nye Lumiere Luxe Powder in Sun Yellow on to my eyelids.

I applied some LA Splash Cosmetics Art-ki-tekt Waterproof Slim Eyeliner. About that, I swept on some NYX Cosmetics Vivid Brights Colored Liquid Liner in Vivid Delight.

Most important part now. The brows. I used my trusty Anastasia Duo Brush 7 to fill them in and shape them with some NYX Cosmetics Eyebrow Gel in Chocolate. To clean up the edges, I used a Sigma e58 and some Dermablend Professional Cover Creme in Natural Beige.

I drenched myself in some Skindinavia The Makeup Finishing Spray for Oil Control.

I prepped my lashes with L’Oréal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara. I slapped in some Ardell Wispies with some Duo Eyelash Adhesive.

I finished off the look with some LA Splash Lip Couture Waterproof Liquid Lipstick in Latte Confession.

And that’s all. I’ll see you soon!

Let’s talk Jamsu… also known as diving  — May 18, 2017

Let’s talk Jamsu… also known as diving

So this week I decided to finally break down and try the newest makeup trend. Jamsu, or diving, is kind of weird when you first hear about it.

You basically apply your cream makeup. I started with Skindinavia Primer Spray. I then applied some Dermablend Professional Cover Creme in Natural Beige with a Morphe m439.

To conceal and highlight, I applied some LA Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealers in Light Ivory and Light Yellow and blended that out with a dampened Beauty Blender.

Next I grabbed a Up and Up Stippling Brush and applied some RMS Lip Shine in Bloom to my cheeks. This is technically for lips, but I like the color more as a blush.

For a bit of a glow, I used a Real Techniques Essential Foundation Brush to sweep some Tata Harper Very Illuminating Highlight onto my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose.

Then you apply a ton of baby powder in top of that. I used Johnson’s Pure Cornstarch Baby Powder. Like here’s what I look like:

Be prepared to make a mess of whatever you’re wearing and your hair, by the way.

The you place your face into freezing cold ice water for about 30 seconds.

This was not pleasant. Believe me. Also, I found that there was still bits of baby powder left in my face. Maybe I put on too much. I don’t know.

Then you pat dry. Not wipe. Just pat.

You’re left with a super matte, smooth finish.

I threw on mascara and brows and went about my day. As usual I used an Anastasia Duo Brush 7 and some NYX Cosmetics Eyebrow Gel in Chocolate. I also used some L’Oréal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara. To finish if off I swept on some Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita.

About four hours later, I was still matte.

At the end of the day, I was still super matte. Kind of to the point that I was a little bit nervous it would be hard to remove.

But it all worked out perfectly in the end. This isn’t something I would go through every day, maybe just save it for special occasions.

That’s all! See you soon!

May 2017 Beauty Trash — May 16, 2017

May 2017 Beauty Trash

It’s time to dig through my beauty trash. This is all the things I’ve used up in about the past month and a half. Let’s jump in!

Baby Foot Original Exfoliant Foot Peel: always going to repurchase this. Always.

Glamglow Youthcleanse Daily Exfoliant Cleanser: its okay. Not sure it’s worth the price.

Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask: ehhhh it was okay. I will not be running out to grab more.

Whamisa Real Kelp Sheet Organic Facial Mask Pack: this is actually already a repurchase. I love this one. It’s so different from you typical cotton sheet masks.

Glamglow Gravity Mud Firming Treatment: this is probably the Glamglow product I love the most. Definitely picking up the full size.

NYX Cosmetics Eyebrow Gel in Chocolate: I’ve already picked more up. The is my go to brow product lately.

Glamglow YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Treatment: I like this more than the cleanser. But still probably not enough to grab the full size.

Serge Normant Dream Big Instant Volumizing Spray: this works. But other products I use work slightly better. So I won’t be grabbing more.

Palladio The Brow Definer Micro Pencil in Black Brown: more black than brown. Good for slightly mapping out brows, or as eyeliner, but too dark to completely fill in with for me.

Iroha Nature Peppermint Relax Relax Foot Mask Socks: these were okay. Nothing to rave about.

Wunderbrow Brow Gel in Black Brown: while this doesn’t last the 3 days it claims it will on me, I do like this product. I would consider grabbing more.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Medium Brown: a lot of people’s Holy Grail Brow product. I like it. I just don’t always love the price point.

Iroha Nature Charcoal Detox Peel Off Mask: I love this product. I don’t love the packaging. It’s a maybe for me.

Palladio The Brow Definer Micro Pencil in Black Brown: read above.

Rusk Anti-Frizz Spray Humidity-Resistant Working Spray: nice. Not too big on working sprays, but I would consider grabbing this one again.

LA Girl Pro Powder HD Setting Powder: I hated this. I absolutely didn’t even want to finish it up. Will not be getting more.

Ardell Demi Wispies: I don’t get it. I know people are kind of obsessed with these, but I prefer my regular Wispies all the way.

Pretty Animalz by Masque Bar Fox Brightening Sheet Mask: so cute. I would repurchase just for that!

And that’s all! I’ll see you soon!

Mask Monday — May 8, 2017

Mask Monday

This week I tried out Iroha Nature Charcoal Peel Off Mask. It’s supposed to be great for detoxing your skin.

Let’s talk packaging. There’s supposed to be five uses in this packet, and it reseals. I’d say there’s more like 2-3 uses. And be prepared for a giant mess. Because of the way the package is, it gets everywhere.

It’s also kind of runny compares to other charcoal peel off masks I’ve used, so I found it a little hard to control when applying.

The peeling feeling was sort of medium. I feel like it was working, but it didn’t hurt the way some do.

Overall, I’d recommend this. See you soon!
